Many of Fantasy Flight's games are accentuated with an app that enhances your gaming experience. One nice thing about doing that is Fantasy Flight can then release new adventures as downloads for said app. Though they're going a step further with the Hunt for the Ember Crown adventure for Journeys in Middle-earth, as they've also got a Villains of Eriador Figure Pack that you can get to go along with it.
This expansion can easily be added to the Lord of the Rings: Journeys of Middle-Earth app for additional random material, but a new adventure called 'Hunt for the Ember Crown' can also be purchased to use these figures. That expansion gives an assortment of chapters to play through an adventure which also varies based on player choices. The new addition to the game will focus on the darker areas of Middle-earth such as the Mines of Moria and Mirkwood. The Shadowed Paths campaign includes 13 scenarios. The expansion will add in new heroes and enemies, terrain and items. This puts it more or less on par with the games other expansions Hunt for the Ember Crown and Eriador. With new opportunities to choose their path, The Hunt for the Ember Crown will test even seasoned heroes of Middle-earth.' Featuring eleven new adventures and a deeply branching narrative that could lead you from the roads of Bree-land to the slopes of the Blue Mountains and beyond, this campaign presents fresh challenges to test even the strongest Fellowship.
